Dr. Praveen C R is a Senior Consultant at Manipal Hospital, Varthur Road branch, specializing in General, GI, and Laparoscopic Surgery. With over 20 years of experience and 11 years of dedicated service at Manipal (formerly Columbia Asia Hospital), he brings unparalleled expertise to the field.
Dr. Praveen completed his post-graduation in General Surgery from Command Hospital Airforce, Whitefield, and earned a Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery from the World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurgaon. He later pursued a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery (FACRSI) through the Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India.
He also holds a Fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery from IAGES, a Fellowship in Endoscopy, and a Bariatric Surgery Fellowship from GEM Hospital, Coimbatore. Alongside his surgical expertise, he is a trained proctologist specializing in anorectal diseases and regularly performs complex laparoscopic and GI surgeries.
Passionate about holistic healthcare, Dr. Praveen earned a Diploma in Functional Medicine from Functional Medicine University, USA, and is a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine, USA. He strongly believes in the power of nutrition and lifestyle in promoting recovery, preventing recurrence, and managing chronic illnesses.

Excellent experience...I consulted Dr. for inguinal hernia laproscopic surgery.. operation done with nominal pain..it took 2 weeks for 90% recovery with a week medication. Now almost 2 months and I am perfectly alright..I strongly recommend Dr. Praveen as a first choice. Thanks a lot sir.
